    FSIN partners with Saskatchewan Polytechnic to focus on Indigenous student success - Fsin Partners With Sask. Polytech To Focus On Indigenous Student Success (Treaty 6 Territory, Saskatoon, SK) — The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask. Polytech) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to set a framework to promote the Inherent and Treaty Right to Education for First Nations students and implementing the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

    Empowering women to follow their passion - Empowering women to follow their passion Women in Trades & Technology gives women the confidence to do anything, including manage their own business! Penny Jean Wohlberg is a journeyperson carpenter and owner of Renovation Jeannie. She is also a strong supporter of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Women in Trades & Technology (WITT) program. “For me it all started with WITT,” says Penny. “WITT is all about empowering women and giving them confidence. WITT was the catalyst that kick-started my career in the trades.”

More than 3,000 students from the schools of Business; Construction; Health Sciences; Human Services and Community Safety; Information and Communications Technology; Mining, Energy and Manufacturing; Nursing; and Transportation will have the opportunity to explore employment options with recruiting companies.

Occupational Health and Safety certificate evolves to meet student and employer needs

OHS programs at Sask Polytech consolidate into a certificate program that will feature a two-week practicum January 31, 2017 – Responding to feedback collected from students, employers and faculty, Saskatchewan Polytechnic is consolidating the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) applied certificate and certificate programs into a single certificate program. Launching in July 2017, the updated program will be offered both online and at the Saskatoon campus and will include a two-week practicum and easier access to student loans.

Industry identifies need for cross-disciplined workers in Saskatchewan manufacturing sector November 30, 2016 – As of this month Saskatchewan Polytechnic is offering 12 seats in its new Innovative Manufacturing program. Beginning September 2017 the two-year diploma program will be delivered at the Regina campus.
