August 28 - September 1, 2017

August 25 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Location: Prince Albert and Saskatoon

The Summer Transition Program is open to all Indigenous students registered for Saskatchewan Polytechnic courses starting in the fall. Organized by Sask Polytech’s Indigenous student advisors in Saskatoon, it is designed to help students prepare for student life in the city and deal with issues that can be barriers to success. This program helps you build a firm foundation so that you can achieve your educational and career goals.

The Summer Transition Program provides help with a number of issues, including:

  • Finding housing and arranging utilities
  • Setting up bank accounts
  • Finalizing funding arrangements
  • Arranging child care and school enrolment for your children

The week-long program will include daily activities including:

  • Circle checks
  • Personal skill development workshops
  • Academic assessment and support
  • Peer group building activities

There are limited seats, so make sure to register early! Applications can be obtained from an Indigenous Student Advisor. There is no registration or application fee, however, students must make their own living arrangements.

Students who successfully complete the Summer Transition Program may be eligible for financial assistance.

Sign up by the end of June 2017!
