Celebrate National Aboriginal Day with Sask Polytech!

With more than 18 per cent of the total student population identifying as Aboriginal, it is the responsibility of the entire organization to ensure each and every student has an equal opportunity to succeed in their educational and career goals.  

Check out events happening in all four campus cities on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in celebration of National Aboriginal Day.

Event:

Tipi Raising, Teachings and Fry Bread

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Location: Moose Jaw campus, front lawn or the cafeteria foyer if there is bad weather.
Details:

Spiritual Advisor, Dickie Yuzicapi, will entertain and nourish our spirits with tipi-raising and teachings, singing, storytelling, drumming, flute-playing.  Our bodies will be nourished with fry bread, mint tea and stewed berries compliments of The Sioux Chef Catering (Dickie Yuzicapi)

Events during the day will be held on the lawn between the academic and technical buildings on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Blanket Exercise

This fun and interactive experiential learning experience discusses Indigenous history and the contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
