Canada is a multicultural nation and registered nurses (RNs) work in a multicultural health-care system. They work as part of an inter-professional team, meeting, talking and collaborating with physicians and other health professionals.

Nurses communicate with patients to determine their needs and are advocates for patient health and safety. From direct care and disease prevention to education, research, policy development and management, RNs play a pivotal role in leading, preparing and implementing changes that influence the health of individual Canadians and overall health-care delivery.

This video series offers a glimpse into registered nursing practice in Canada by showing some common and important scenarios where nursing knowledge and skills are required.

These videos are simulations. While some details of the care settings may not be accurate, the videos portray realistic nursing in Canadian situations.
