Intro to Surgical Environment (NURS-1695)
You will be introduced to the surgical environment including what to expect when you walk through the doors, who you will be working with, and the roles of each team member. You will learn the various roles of a perioperative nurse within the operating room and your responsibilities related asepsis, sterilization, disinfection and infection prevention through the implementation of perioperative nursing care standards. You will learn basic technical skills necessary to prepare yourself and the patient for a surgical procedure. Prerequisite: LPN/RN (You will be required to provide your license number at the time of registration.)
