    Student-run dental clinics help those in need - Student-run dental clinics help those in need Clinic is held at the Regina Food Bank and Regina Open Door Society multiple times a year For more than seven years, second-year dental hygiene students have been visiting the Regina Food Bank up to six times a year to provide oral health evaluations and provide oral hygiene instruction, to support those in need, free of cost. “This is an essential service as many of these clients do not access dentistry as they have many barriers,” says Dental Hygiene instructor and organizer of the dental clinic info days, Dean Lefebvre. “We go to them and provide them with free aids.”

    Fifth annual charrette celebrates Canada’s diversity in architectural design - Fifth annual charrette celebrates Canada’s diversity in architectural design Learning opportunity puts students in a professional setting On February 1, 2018, students from the Architectural Technologies program headed to Robinson Residential Design Inc. in Regina to put their skills to the test. Divided into teams of four, students were assigned a province or territory and given the day to come up with a home design inspired by the region’s geography, history and culture – a design idea influenced by John Robinson’s Canada 150 Small Homes exhibit at the Regina Science Centre.

    Creating a home away from home for 25 years - Creating a home away from home for 25 years The Prince Albert campus Indigenous Student Centre celebrated a major anniversary On February 15 the centre celebrated its anniversary with a smudging ceremony, an honour song, guest speakers and a lunch. Known to those who use the space as the All Nations Gathering Place, the Indigenous Student Centre at Prince Albert Campus has a long history of supporting Indigenous students as they work to achieve their educational and career goals. Over the past 25 years, the centre has provided a space to study and socialize, seek guidance from an Elder and celebrate achievements.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic honours diversity at second annual Intercultural Week More than 40 events will take place across the province between March 21 and 24 March 20, 2016 – With more than 500 international students and more than 18 per cent of the student body identifying as Indigenous, Sask Polytech is proud to be a culturally diverse institution. In an effort to honour and celebrate how such diversity enriches the learning and work experience for each student, staff and faculty member, Sask Polytech is hosting the second annual Intercultural Week, March 21-24.
