Saskatchewan Polytechnic students connect with employers
47 employers attend specialized technology career fair
November 5, 2014 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Moose Jaw Campus is holding its second annual fall career fair today. In addition to the annual, multi-disciplinary career fair held at the beginning of each calendar year, this fair focuses on students in Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s technology-based programs offered in Moose Jaw. Students have the opportunity to explore employment options with 47 potential employers.
“Most of the students that are attending are in mandatory Co-operative Education programs,” said student employment services co-ordinator Holli Bell. “This is a great opportunity for students to get to know what potential employer companies have to offer before applying for their first co-operative work term positions. First-year students attending last year’s technology career fair felt more confident when applying for work term jobs as they knew a little about what the various companies had to offer.”
Employers are on hand to meet with students from the following Saskatchewan Polytechnic programs:
- Architectural Technologies (Building Sciences & Interior Design)
- Civil Engineering Technology
- Civil Technician
- Computer Engineering Technology
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Electrician Applied Certificate
- Engineering Design and Drafting Technology
- Environmental Engineering Technology
- Geomatics and Surveying Engineering Technology
- Instrumentation Engineering Technology
- Water Resources Engineering Technology
The career fair is organized by the Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Moose Jaw Campus Student Employment Services (SES) office. Each Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus has an SES office that provides career information, job search and recruitment services to students and employers.
This year’s technology career fair is sponsored by:
- SaskPower (Campus Sponsor)
- AMEC Inc.
