Continuing Education Programs and Courses

The course focuses on persons working as building operators and persons interested in improving skills and knowledge of commercial and institutional facilities in which they are in charge of steam or hot water boilers, refrigeration equipment, pumps and heating systems. Water treatment and quality control in boilers and cooling systems is also covered. Several labs are conducted to reinforce classroom work. This course is intended to prepare students to write the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan(TSASK) Fifth Class exam, Successful course completion earns students 6 months qualifying time credit but an additional 6 months is required before TSASK certificate is awarded. Provincial testing is not included – contact the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (1-866-530-8599) to book the certification exam.

Plus lab work dates TBA, including some Saturdays; some scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays are subject to change. Steel toe boots and safety glasses required for lab work.

Prerequisites: Grade 10 Level of Math and Science or equivalent
