Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology

Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology is a diploma program that provides the knowledge and skill development needed to perform a specific range of procedures, including laboratory tests, general radiography and electrocardiograms. The clinical experience, consisting of 29 weeks, may take place anywhere in Saskatchewan and at multiple sites. Students are required to challenge and pass comprehensive competency-based exams in radiography, laboratory and electrocardiography in order to successfully complete the program. Graduates will then be eligible to work as a CLXT and apply for membership in the Saskatchewan Association of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technicians (SACLXT).

Selected courses in this program are available through distance and/or continuing education. The program is available full-time at Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus in Saskatoon. For complete program information, check the program page.

Previous graduates of the Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technician certificate program may ladder into the technology diploma through continuing education. This option must be completed by December 23, 2015.

This is a high demand program. The application period is October 1 to February 15 each academic year. Applications are currently restricted to Canadian residents.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and transfer credit may be options for receiving credit. For further information see the PLAR candidate guide (pdf) or the transfer credit page.
