The 200 hour 4th Class Power Lab is for students who have completed an approved "4th Class Power Engineering Theory Course" but do not have qualifying work experience towards the 4th Class TSASK certificate. Upon completion students will have the necessary experience to earn 6 month's qualifying time credit from TSASK.

Attendance is mandatory.

Topics include: Plant Safety, Piping & Valves, High Pressure and Heating Boiler Design & Operation, Parts & Fittings, Feedwater Testing & Treatment, Prime Movers, Pumps & Compressors, Electrical Controls & Instrumentation, Heating Systems, Compression Refrigeration and Boiler Mainenance.

CSA approved footwear and safety glasses are required.


Submit pre-req documents by April 30, 2017 to
Proof of successful completion of an approved 4th Class Power Engineering Theory course, or
- Proof of attainment of 4th Class Part A & B government exam papers

SAIT, NAIT & BCIT’s 4th Class Power Engineering Correspondence Theory courses are approved and can be used as the pre-requisite.
