Practical Nursing Certificate to Diploma

Practical Nursing, through Continuing Education offers bridging courses to Licensed Practical Nurses who graduated from Saskatchewan Polytechnic before June 2008 with a Practical Nursing certificate. These bridging courses offer an opportunity to bridge to the current diploma credential. As a Saskatchewan Polytechnic Practical Nursing certificate graduate, once you complete these courses you may apply to the registrar to graduate with a diploma.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and transfer credit may be options for receiving credit. For further information see the PLAR candidate guide (pdf) , PLAR fact sheet (pdf) or the transfer credit page.

Those who have successfully completed LEAD 1604, NURS 1639, and NURS 1664 will receive credit toward bridging to the Saskatchewan Polytechnic diploma credential through a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process.

These classes are all offered through distance education.

If you graduated with a Saskatchewan Polytechnic Practical Nursing Certificate, reference this information (pdf) for the classes for you to achieve a Practical Nursing diploma.
