Practical Nurse Re-Entry
Practical Nurse Re-entry is an applied certificate program for
have previously been registered in Canada as licensed practical nurses
and are eligible for re-registration in Saskatchewan
are practical nurses but have not been registered in Canada as
licensed practical nurses and require or want to prepare to write the
national registration exams (Assessment Strategies Inc.)
want to update and evaluate their knowledge and skills
You will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to reach the
competencies required for a beginning practical nurse graduate.
This program is available in full through distance and/or part-time
continuing education. For complete program information, check the program

You will be introduced to basic computer concepts. The course content
includes computer components, hardware, software, working in a graphical user interface, file management, word processing and the Internet. The general skills you learn will prepare you for further courses, such as word processing, spreadsheets and presentation graphics.

The Health Assessment course for Licensed Practical Nurses will prepare you to perform a health history and physical examination of clients. You will enhance your assessment skills with a focus on a patient centered approach. You will apply critical thinking and evidenced informed nursing practice to health assessment. You will consider health assessment in various stages across the lifespan, with a focus on the older adult. Challenges related to aging are also explored. You will perform a health history and physical Revised Learning Outcomes examination with an older adult and document the findings in an assignment.
