Career Enhancement Programs

Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Career Enhancement programs provide the tools you need to reach your employment goals. You will participate in the most current computer, job search and workplace essential skills training, while exploring career options in a supportive classroom setting. You will also network with potential employers and select a workplace training site to gain valuable hands-on experience.

Classroom training includes:

  • Computer courses in basic computer operation using Windows 7; Microsoft Office 13: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; and Keyboarding
  • Self assessment and goal setting activities
  • Skills training for job success including essential and employability skills, communication, problem solving and teamwork skills
  • Job search tools including resume, cover letter and portfolio development

Workplace training:

Students work on-site with local employers in exchange for training, skills development, networking and employment opportunities.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus Career Enhancement Programs (20 weeks):

  • September 26, 2016 to March 3, 2017
  • January 9, 2017 to May 26, 2017

How to Apply: Interested applicants must see an Employment Consultant at Regina Labour Market Services Branch (SaskJobs) at 1911 Broad Street in Regina, or call 306-787-2160. Consultants will help determine if Career Enhancement is a good option for you. If you are approved for a Career Enhancement programs you may be eligible for coverage of training costs and/or financial support while attending training.

Are you 55 or over and looking for work?

The Experience Counts project offers unemployed persons assistance in finding rewarding employment and has been very successful for past participants. Persons between the ages of 55 to 64 will be given priority; all those over 50 may be considered.

Benefits of the Experience Counts project include: individual career planning resume and portfolio development interview practice group workshops computer and other occupational skills training assistance in finding employment
