This two-day workshop is designed to acquaint municipal and community operators with the basic principals of treating surface water from dugouts, reservoirs and rivers for human consumption. This workshop is particularly useful for those who have had limited training and experience and for those who wihs to refresh their knowledge of the complexities of surface water treatment and plant operation.

This course will appeal to those involved in the application, enforcement, sales, installation and testing of backflow preventers. The first part of the course deals with the principles of cross connections, application of devices and current regulations and bylaws. The balance of time is dedicated to hands-on testing in our Cross Connection Control Lab (75% required for successful completion).

The Saskatchewan Small Systems Certification exam is not included as part of this course. Students will write the Small Systems provincial certification exam to meet the requirements of the Saskatchewan Operator Certification Board.

Students must bring their own non-programmable calculator Registration closes two weeks prior to course start date.
