You will learn the theoretical and practical application of the OTC (Overhead Traveling Crane). Training emphasizes on practical and safetyoriented components of crane operation and rigging. Rigging is the safe use of hardware such as slings, shackles, eyebolts, chain hoists and comea-longs in lifting operations. Upon completion of all learning outcomes, you will obtain a certificate stating you are a competent operator of up to (but not including) 50 tonne Overhead Travelling Crane according to OH&S regulations. Saskatchewan Polytechnic also offers this course at dates and times suitable for employers’ training staff.

This course will be delivered when the minimum number of students has been reached. You will be contacted when the interest list has a sufficient number of people. Please bring safety approved eye protection, work gloves, work boots, calculator and tape measure

This course is an online 16-hour course that covers the theory required for forklift operators. In order to receive certification to operate a forklift you should take FORK 1801 which also has the practical operation of a forklift.
