Instrumentation Engineering Technology
Instrumentation Engineering Technology is a diploma program. It provides knowledge and skill development in understanding and applying the instrumentation used to measure, record and control process variables (such as flow, temperature, level and pressure). The Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists’ (CCTT) Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB) accredits the program at the Engineering Technologist level. After two years of suitable industrial experience, graduates are eligible for membership in the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) as Applied Science Technologists. Graduates also receive advance credit standing for apprenticeship training in the Industrial Instrument Mechanic trade.

Instruction focuses on Gas installations and applications with gas loads capped at 400,000 BTUH. Pre-requisite is a Journeyperson status in the Refrigeration trade. Upon successful completion of this program, students can then apply to the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship branch for eligibility to write the provincial gas exam for Domestic gas certification.
Additional costs may be CSA B149.1-15 and B149.2-15 Gas Code books, Supplements CSA 149.1-15 and 149.2-15, as well as Dutton's "Fundamentals of Gas". If you do not have current versions, you will be required to purchase for continuation into the course. You must register with the Apprenticeship Board at least one month prior to this course to write your exam. Please bring proper eye protection, work gloves, and work boots.
Course duration is 90 hours.
