Ms. Verna Alford receives honorary diploma at Moose Jaw Convocation

Ms. Verna Alford is the president of Alford Floors & Interiors in Regina. The company opened its doors in 1967 as a flooring store. Later, Verna expanded the company and began to provide furniture, accessories and guidance in Interior Design. Alford Floors & Interiors was one of the first companies to offer Interior Design services in Western Canada.

Verna is an incredibly active participant within her community. She is a lifetime member of the Regina Humane Society and has provided support to numerous fundraising efforts. In 2004, Verna was awarded the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal by the Government of Saskatchewan.

She is a truly accomplished entrepreneur, business leader and caring community member. Congratulations Verna.


Since the first honorary diploma was awarded in 2003, Sask Polytech has been recognizing extraordinary individuals who model the institution's vision and values. The contributions made by the members of this elite group help cultivate an educational environment focused on applied learning and innovative research.
