    Summer camps can show kids countless career opportunities - Summer camps can show kids countless career opportunities Get your kids to learn something new this summer Every summer, Sask Polytech students and faculty host a number of summer camps for kids looking to learn a new skill or learn about a new career option they’ve never thought possible. These week-long camps, are designed to help kids learn something new, develop their social skills and build their self-confidence. Camps are offered at Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon campuses and are available for children ranging from nine to seventeen years of age.

May 25, 2017 – Tomorrow Saskatchewan Polytechnic will celebrate the accomplishments of 579 graduates along with award recipients at the Saskatoon campus convocation. Over 1,600 students were invited to attend Saskatoon convocation.

    SGI Salvage and Saskatchewan Polytechnic mark unique 15-year partnership - SGI SALVAGE AND SASKATCHEWAN POLYTECHNIC MARK UNIQUE 15-YEAR PARTNERSHIP Students Train for Automotive Service and Auto Body Technician Careers by Fixing Total Loss Vehicles It all started with a Pontiac Sunfire in 2002. Since then, nearly 250 vehicles have been repaired by Saskatchewan Polytechnic Automotive Service and Auto Body Technician certificate students. Today, a long-running but little-known partnership between Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) Salvage and Saskatchewan Polytechnic was celebrated at Saskatoon campus.

    Sask Polytech students have some of the best skills in the world - Sask Polytech students have some of the best skills in the world Skills competitions aim to showcase trade and technology careers Every year dozens of students from several programs at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, ranging from welding to cooking, come together to showcase their abilities in their chosen trade at the Skills Saskatchewan Annual Provincial Skills Competition. Students compete against their peers to complete notoriously intense challenges, vying for a spot on Team Saskatchewan at the Skills Canada National Skills Competition and a chance to represent Canada every second year at the World Skills International competition.

The School of Nursing celebrates prestigious awards This month we celebrate National Nursing Week, the School of Nursing 50th Anniversary and nursing awards May 11, 2017 – May is a very exciting month for the School of Nursing. Saskatchewan Polytechnic is celebrating National Nursing Week, our School of Nursing 50th anniversary and Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA) awards. This week is National Nursing Week, an annual celebration of education and careers in nursing. It coincides with our School of Nursing 50th anniversary on May 13 at Saskatoon campus. “We are very proud of our School of Nursing and all they have accomplished this month and since 1967,” says Dr. Anne Neufeld, provost and vice-president, Academic. “Saskatchewan Polytechnic has been a leader in nursing education for registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, registered nurse/nurse practitioners and licensed practical nurses for 50 years. Congrats to our Sask Polytech SRNA award winners.”

Over 200 alumni, faculty, students and supporters are expected to attend the weekend’s events. “This is an exceptionally exciting year for the School of Nursing as we celebrate 50 years of quality nursing education,” says Dr. Netha Dyck, dean, School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences. “We are pleased to host celebratory events that honour the pioneering efforts of thousands of alumni in advancing nursing education, research and scholarly work. We are also celebrating the achievements of our currents students, graduates, faculty and staff.”

Collaborative nursing program receives seven-year CASN accreditation and five-year SRNA program approval November 30, 2016 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Regina’s Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program recently passed two important milestones. The SCBScN program received seven-year accreditation through the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) and five-year program approval through the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA).
