    Plan Program Play programming camp is back for year seven - Plan Program Play programming camp is back for year seven Since 2010 Saskatchewan Polytech has hosted this interactive programming camp for teens July 19, 2016 – High school students are attending a three day camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic this week. For ten years Plan Program Play campers have explored the fundamentals of computer programming while creating and modifying simple games.

    Mind over metal summer welding camp - Mind over metal summer welding camp The Canadian Welding Association Foundation hosts Mind Over Metal summer camps for girls at Regina campus July 19, 2016 –The Saskatchewan Polytechnic Women in Trades and Technology (WITT) program has partnered with the Canadian Welding Association (CWA) Foundation to host a Mind Over Metal welding summer camp for girls aged 12 to 15. The week-long camp is being hosted at the Regina campus.

Girls Exploring Trades and Technology (GETT) camps provide participants with a safe, supportive environment to explore the tools, equipment and skills needed for a trades and technology career.

    Paul Hill receives honorary diploma at Regina Convocation - Paul Hill receives honorary diploma at Regina Convocation As president of The Hill Companies since 1978, Paul has achieved a number of noteworthy successes over the years. One of his most significant achievements was acquiring controlling interest of Crown Life in 1990 and moving the company to Regina from Toronto. The acquisition not only brought 1,200 jobs to Regina, it also expanded Saskatchewan’s GDP by two per cent and the city’s GDP by ten per cent. Crown Life is now owned by Canada Life and remains a significant presence in Regina.

First graduates of the Swift Current option of the SCBScN program celebrate achievements with a pinning ceremony Pinning ceremony is a graduation tradition for nursing that originated in the 1860s June 1, 2017 – On Friday the first cohort of students from the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program who completed their four years of education in Swift Current will celebrate their graduation by being presented with a nursing pin. The time-honoured tradition of the nursing pin began at the Nightingale School of Nursing and is a symbol of honour, courage, dedication and privilege of being a nurse.

The School of Nursing celebrates prestigious awards This month we celebrate National Nursing Week, the School of Nursing 50th Anniversary and nursing awards May 11, 2017 – May is a very exciting month for the School of Nursing. Saskatchewan Polytechnic is celebrating National Nursing Week, our School of Nursing 50th anniversary and Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA) awards. This week is National Nursing Week, an annual celebration of education and careers in nursing. It coincides with our School of Nursing 50th anniversary on May 13 at Saskatoon campus. “We are very proud of our School of Nursing and all they have accomplished this month and since 1967,” says Dr. Anne Neufeld, provost and vice-president, Academic. “Saskatchewan Polytechnic has been a leader in nursing education for registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, registered nurse/nurse practitioners and licensed practical nurses for 50 years. Congrats to our Sask Polytech SRNA award winners.”
