    FSIN partners with Saskatchewan Polytechnic to focus on Indigenous student success - Fsin Partners With Sask. Polytech To Focus On Indigenous Student Success (Treaty 6 Territory, Saskatoon, SK) — The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask. Polytech) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to set a framework to promote the Inherent and Treaty Right to Education for First Nations students and implementing the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

Penny Jean Wohlberg is a journeyperson carpenter and owner of Renovation Jeannie. She is also a strong supporter of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Women in Trades & Technology (WITT) program. “For me it all started with WITT,” says Penny. “WITT is all about empowering women and giving them confidence. WITT was the catalyst that kick-started my career in the trades.”

Saskatchewan Polytechnic eco-car makes great debut run, finishing 18th overall Ultra-fuel-efficient vehicle performed better than many top American and Canadian universities at the Shell Eco-Marathon in Detroit. May 3, 2017 – This past weekend a student designed and built ultra-fuel-efficient vehicle made a big impression in the international competition. The team of Mechanical and CAD/CAM Engineering Technology students presented a car that managed to out-perform some significant Canadian universities including UBC, Queens, Ottawa, and Concordia and American universities including Perdue, Berkeley, Michigan.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic School of Nursing 50th Anniversary The School of Nursing is celebrating 50 years of quality nursing education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic April 27, 2016 – This weekend the School of Nursing will celebrate 50 years of quality nursing education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Nearly 150 alumni, faculty, students and supporters are expected to attend the weekend’s events. “This is an exceptionally exciting year for the School of Nursing as we celebrate 50 years of quality nursing education,” says Dr. Netha Dyck, dean, School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences. “We are pleased to host celebratory events that honour the pioneering efforts of thousands of alumni in advancing nursing education, research and scholarly work. We are also celebrating the achievements of our currents students, graduates, faculty and staff.”

Saskatchewan Polytechnic celebrates excellence at Moose Jaw convocation More undergrad students graduate from Saskatchewan Polytechnic each year than from any other post-secondary institute in the province. April 27, 2017 – Tomorrow Saskatchewan Polytechnic will celebrate the accomplishments of 236 graduates along with award recipients at the Moose Jaw campus convocation. Almost 700 students were invited to attend Moose Jaw convocation. “We attract hard-working, resourceful and innovative students. Our many graduates are exceptional,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, president and CEO. “Convocation is a chance to look back on your accomplishments and your celebrate achievements. I’m proud of this year’s graduates and award recipients.”

(SES-SESSC) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic have created one of the province’s first power generation co-operatives at the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Demonstration Site, part of the Landfill Gas Collection and Power Generation System.

Women in Trades & Technology at Saskatchewan Polytechnic Dedicated to increasing the number of women in Saskatchewan trades and technology for 30 years INTRO The Saskatchewan Polytechnic Women in Trades & Technology WITT program was greatly influenced by the women who founded Saskatchewan Tradeswomen in the 1970s, a movement that eventually formed Saskatchewan Women in Trades and Technology (SaskWITT). These women were leaders in a national movement to bring like-minded women together to remove barriers in traditionally male occupations. Sask Polytech’s WITT program has evolved over the past 30 years, but the goal remains the same: encourage and assist women interested in trades and technology careers.
