    FSIN partners with Saskatchewan Polytechnic to focus on Indigenous student success - Fsin Partners With Sask. Polytech To Focus On Indigenous Student Success (Treaty 6 Territory, Saskatoon, SK) — The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask. Polytech) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to set a framework to promote the Inherent and Treaty Right to Education for First Nations students and implementing the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

    Empowering women to follow their passion - Empowering women to follow their passion Women in Trades & Technology gives women the confidence to do anything, including manage their own business! Penny Jean Wohlberg is a journeyperson carpenter and owner of Renovation Jeannie. She is also a strong supporter of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Women in Trades & Technology (WITT) program. “For me it all started with WITT,” says Penny. “WITT is all about empowering women and giving them confidence. WITT was the catalyst that kick-started my career in the trades.”

For 26 years, girls GETT interested in trades Scooter races cap week-long exploration camp for girls at Regina campus presented by SaskPower July 13, 2016 – Girls from grade six to eight will be attending week-long trades and technology camps at Saskatchewan Polytechnic this month, presented by SaskPower. Girls Exploring Trades and Technology (GETT) camps provide participants with a safe, supportive environment to explore the tools, equipment and skills needed for a trades and technology career.

Paul Hill receives honorary diploma at Regina Convocation

Paul Hill receives honorary diploma at Regina Convocation As president of The Hill Companies since 1978, Paul has achieved a number of noteworthy successes over the years. One of his most significant achievements was acquiring controlling interest of Crown Life in 1990 and moving the company to Regina from Toronto. The acquisition not only brought 1,200 jobs to Regina, it also expanded Saskatchewan’s GDP by two per cent and the city’s GDP by ten per cent. Crown Life is now owned by Canada Life and remains a significant presence in Regina.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is proud to support our Indigenous students, faculty and staff as we celebrate Indigenous culture on National Aboriginal Day. “National Aboriginal Day is an important event for Saskatchewan Polytechnic,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, president and CEO. “Approximately 18 percent of our student population counts itself as having Indigenous ancestry. Taking time to observe and celebrate our Indigenous culture enriches the institution’s diversity, which is one of our greatest strengths.”

A set of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission reports donated by Arcand to Sask Polytech are on permanent display.
