    FSIN partners with Saskatchewan Polytechnic to focus on Indigenous student success - Fsin Partners With Sask. Polytech To Focus On Indigenous Student Success (Treaty 6 Territory, Saskatoon, SK) — The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask. Polytech) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to set a framework to promote the Inherent and Treaty Right to Education for First Nations students and implementing the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

    Empowering women to follow their passion - Empowering women to follow their passion Women in Trades & Technology gives women the confidence to do anything, including manage their own business! Penny Jean Wohlberg is a journeyperson carpenter and owner of Renovation Jeannie. She is also a strong supporter of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Women in Trades & Technology (WITT) program. “For me it all started with WITT,” says Penny. “WITT is all about empowering women and giving them confidence. WITT was the catalyst that kick-started my career in the trades.”

September 1, 2017 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Students’ Association (SPSA) are collaborating to welcome 11,000 students to campus the first week of September.

Plan Program Play programming camp is back for year seven Since 2010 Saskatchewan Polytech has hosted this interactive programming camp for teens July 19, 2016 – High school students are attending a three day camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic this week. For ten years Plan Program Play campers have explored the fundamentals of computer programming while creating and modifying simple games.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is proud to support our Indigenous students, faculty and staff as we celebrate Indigenous culture on National Aboriginal Day. “National Aboriginal Day is an important event for Saskatchewan Polytechnic,” says Dr. Larry Rosia, president and CEO. “Approximately 18 percent of our student population counts itself as having Indigenous ancestry. Taking time to observe and celebrate our Indigenous culture enriches the institution’s diversity, which is one of our greatest strengths.”

Ms. Verna Alford receives honorary diploma at Moose Jaw Convocation Ms. Verna Alford is the president of Alford Floors & Interiors in Regina. The company opened its doors in 1967 as a flooring store. Later, Verna expanded the company and began to provide furniture, accessories and guidance in Interior Design. Alford Floors & Interiors was one of the first companies to offer Interior Design services in Western Canada.
