    Partnership is launched for the first bilingual practical nursing program in Saskatchewan Collège Mathieu and Saskatchewan Polytechnic sign a memorandum of understanding November 29, 2017 – A partnership between Collège Mathieu and Saskatchewan Polytechnic has resulted in exploration of the delivery of the first and only bilingual Practical Nursing program in Saskatchewan. Today a memorandum of understanding was signed to formalize this partnership. A bilingual option will prepare Licensed Practical Nurses to provide health care services in Francophone communities.

    First graduates of the Swift Current option of the SCBScN program celebrate achievements with a pinning ceremony Pinning ceremony is a graduation tradition for nursing that originated in the 1860s June 1, 2017 – On Friday the first cohort of students from the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program who completed their four years of education in Swift Current will celebrate their graduation by being presented with a nursing pin. The time-honoured tradition of the nursing pin began at the Nightingale School of Nursing and is a symbol of honour, courage, dedication and privilege of being a nurse.

    Saskatchewan Polytechnic School of Nursing 50th Anniversary The School of Nursing is celebrating 50 years of quality nursing education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic May 9, 2016 – This weekend the School of Nursing will celebrate 50 years of quality nursing education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Over 200 alumni, faculty, students and supporters are expected to attend the weekend’s events. “This is an exceptionally exciting year for the School of Nursing as we celebrate 50 years of quality nursing education,” says Dr. Netha Dyck, dean, School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences. “We are pleased to host celebratory events that honour the pioneering efforts of thousands of alumni in advancing nursing education, research and scholarly work. We are also celebrating the achievements of our currents students, graduates, faculty and staff.”
